SEAVI Advent led a US$52 million leveraged buyout of Speedy-Tech Electronics in March 2000 to provide liquidity to the founder and new capital for expansion. Speedy-Tech is a contract manufacturer of electronic products for multinational corporations. The Singapore-based company has offices and plants in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Manila. Electronic contract manufacturing has been a key focus for SEAVI Advent in Asia.
SEAVI Advent has made several successful investments in the sector, including Venture Manufacturing, which was listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore and had a market capitalization of more than US$1.5 billion. Speedy-Tech presented an opportunity for SEAVI Advent to leverage its industry knowledge to help the company grow into a larger player, by setting up new plants in China and pursuing consolidation with smaller, complementary contract manufacturers. In January 2004, Speedy-Tech was successfully listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Singapore.

MBf Card Services is one of the largest MasterCard issuer and acquirer in Malaysia and South East Asia, with about 16% market share of the MasterCard member base and 25% of its merchant network. The company is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and is preparing for public listing in the Malaysian stock exchange.
SEAVI Advent led a US$22 million investment into the company in year 2000, for a significant minority stake with control provisions. SEAVI Advent has since worked closely with the company in strengthening its management team and securing of new credit lines for its growth into VISA related product offerings. As a result of its leadership role in the market, MBf Cards Services is also the first non-bank financial institution to be awarded the VISA franchise.

This was an opportunity to team up with a well-established strategic partner, Li & Fung (1937) Ltd, one of Asia's most successful trading companies. With a consortium of other investors through Li & Fung (Distribution) Ltd, SEAVI Advent completed a complex transaction involving the purchase of the Asia Pacific marketing, distribution and warehousing businesses of Inchcape PLc for US$220 million.
Li & Fung is an established company with an excellent reputation as an international services provider and an experienced management team with leading market positions in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong and China. The company has the potential to build a world-class logistics operation by leveraging its infrastructure, management, distribution network and operational systems.

SEAVI Advent co-led with DBS Private Equity, a $10 million equity purchase and financing into Interactive Technology which provides unique and innovative telecom network software solutions for fixed and wireless operators, and contact centres solutions for enterprises. Customers of Interactive Technology include prominent companies in Asia such as Hutchinson Telecom, Smartone, PCCW, Singapore Telecom and M1.
